VRV means "variable refrigerant volume", a term that is protected by Daikin. Therefore other manufacturers use the term VRF, or "variable refrigerant flow".

Furthermore, the VRV is one of the most energy efficient models of air con available and they can be installed very simply. The volume or flow rate of refrigerant is precisely matched to the required heating or cooling loads meaning they save energy and are simple to control.
